Eagle Scout Project:
Path Expansion at Nassau Point Causeway Beach Park

This Eagle Scout project centers on the expansion of the existing path located on the park property at the intersection of Skunk Lane and Nassau Point Road. The goal of this initiative is to improve accessibility for all visitors to the park, making it easier for everyone to enjoy the area.

Project Background

The project was initiated by Michael Viggiano, an Eagle Scout candidate, who approached the Park District with a proposal to extend the current path. The original path was constructed as part of a previous Eagle Scout effort. Building on that foundation, Michael’s plan seeks to expand the path to cover a greater portion of the property, thereby increasing its utility and reach for park users.

Project Goals

The main objective of the project is to create a peaceful area where visitors can appreciate the natural beauty of West Creek. The design of the path expansion is intended to enhance the overall park experience while preserving the natural features and ecosystem of the location, ensuring that the environment remains undisturbed for future generations.

Expected Completion date: Early Spring 2026
